#MixtapeMonday- Gone But Not Forgotten: Musicians That Left Us

Sadly, the end of the year geared up a few deaths in the world of Rock-n- Roll when Earth, Wind & Fire’s drummer, Fred White passed away at the age of 67, when he was pronounced dead on Sunday, according to his sibling and bandmate, Verdine. There is no information how the drummer passed away but before his death he and bandmates entered the Rock and Roll Hall of fame back in 2000. Modest Mouse drummer, Jeremiah Green died at 45 years-old due to a stage 4 battle with cancer— the news came shortly as the drummer’s band members and family announced the horrific news with their fans.

Anita Pointer, one of four sibling singers who earned pop success and critical acclaim as The Pointer Sisters, died Saturday (Dec. 31) at the age of 74, her publicist confirmed. According to Billboard, "the Grammy winner passed away while she was with family members but cause of death was not immediately revealed."

Today, 70 years ago, marks the death of country music sensation, Hank Williams, one of the leading U.S. singers of the 1940s. Williams was brought to this world with a spinal deformity called spina bifida occulta; which causes individuals to struggle with a small gap between the bones in the spine, as a result of incomplete formation. People who deal with this abnormality tend to deal with the pain for many years. But due to his drinking problems, the singer passed away at a very young age of 29 years old.
