Today's #TechTalk is jam packed with stuff! Coming up next week on October 13th, Apple is expected to unveil its new 5G capable iPhone.
This week Apple sent out a media invite with the title "Hi, Speed." The general public is also invited to watch the event which will start at 1:00pm ET on Apple's website as well as their YouTube channel.
The day after that is Prime Day 2020! There are already some deals you can get your hands on for Amazon's Prime day happening on October 14th. Current Prime members get access to the early deals, so if you're not a member maybe think about signing up. We live in the online age where everything is delivered to us, and a membership only runs you $12.99 a month.
And finally Yelp is launching a new feature that alerts users if a business has been accused of racist behavior. Noorie Malik, Yelp's Vice President of User Operations, said:
"Now more than ever, consumers are increasingly conscious of the types of businesses they patronize and support. They are 'voting with their dollars,' so to speak. We needed a better solution to inform consumers about businesses allegedly associated with egregious, racially charged actions to help people feel comfortable patronizing a business."
It'll be interesting to see how this feature will actually work. We discussed all of this with Marc Saltzman in today's edition of #TechTalk. Have a listen!
