The November election is coming up fast, but so many things can change between now and then. One thing we're already thinking about is what will happen to Kamala Harris' Senate seat if she and Biden win. Governor Gavin Newsom would have to pick somebody to take her place and fill out the remainder of her term.
Here are some of the names he could pick from:
- Rep. Karen Bass
- Rep. Adam Schiff
- CA Secretary of State Alex Padilla
- CA Attorney General Xavier Becerra
- L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti (Oh boy, wouldn't that be something?!)
We'll have to see how this all plays out in the coming months, but in the meantime it's kind of fun to speculate. We discussed this more today with Jessica Levinson, a professor at LMU's Loyola Law School and host of the Passing Judgement Podcast.
