With the fallout of COVID-19 there are a lot of simple things that have been overlooked, like ultrasounds. Dawn Campellone owns Orange Diagnostic Ultrasound in the City of Orange, and is still open for business!
She sent over some info on how Coronavirus has impacted her business:
We perform several types of physician ordered, diagnostic ultrasound exams. We cater to patients that either do not have insurance or have not yet met their high deductible. We offer these services at a very low price of $140 which includes the scan (ultrasound), the radiologist’s read and the report being faxed to the ordering physician. We are a family owned and operated business. We have been affected by this virus in many ways. People are scared to go into any office to seek care. Meanwhile, ailments continue to appear but don’t get addressed. This is a dangerous practice. We offer a safer alternative to larger imaging centers or the emergency room being that we are a small facility and have a small waiting area.
We have adjusted the way we see people in our office since COVID. We require patients to call for an appointment as well as call when they arrive. We lock the door between patients to allow for social distancing as well as disinfecting the office. We are all wearing masks, checking temperatures at the door, asking the history and exposure questions, washing hands and social distancing. We are providing a safe space for the community to have their ultrasounds done and care for their overall well-being.
Mental health is just as important as physical health and not being able to obtain care for either one of those pieces of the puzzle is a recipe for disaster. We are proud and blessed to have this opportunity to provide these services for our community.
