Don't you wish you could fly? Well, David Mayman, founder of JetPack Aviation Corporation can! For the last ten years JetPack Aviation, which is based in Los Angeles, California, has been the leading micro personal vertical take off and landing (VTOL) industry. The company states, "We are dedicated to building the safest, smallest and fastest VTOL aircraft possible. Between 2010 and 2015 we designed and built the world's first portable JetPack." Mayman, an aviator who has a fixed wing and helicopter pilot certificate in Australia, America, and Europe, founded the company in 2016. In 2015 Mayman successfully flew the JB9 JetPack around the Statue of Liberty. In 2018, Mayman and and Operations Director, Boris Jarry flew JB10 JetPacks around a lake in California. This was significant because it was the first pair of jetpacks in history to achieve flight at the same time.
Mayman and the company are currently test flying a 1/3 scale prototype of the SpeederTM aircraft. This fast, small, one of a kind aircraft will improve the way paramedics reach their patients. Essentially, Mayman is creating a flying motorcycle!
Mayman, also known as the JetPack man will be at the Great Pacific Airshow in Huntington Beach this weekend along with: U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, The Red Arrows, Canadian Forces Snowbirds, Mike Wiskus, Jeff Boerboon, and more!
