#TechTalk: New Google Phones and Facebook Video Calling with Amazon's Alexa

Google's Pixel is ready to take over the phone world dominated by Apple and Samsung, with their newly released Pixel 3 and 3XL.

And let me tell ya folks, they are not messing around!

Here's what to look forward to if you get your hands on one of these new bad boys:

  • Larger OLED display (Pixel 3 - 5.5 inches) (3XL - 6.3 inches)
  • Second front-facing, 8 megapixel wide-angle lens shooter added (to improve those selfies)
  • Top Shot: recognizes your best photo, capturing multiple photos before recommending the best one.
  • Night Sight: feature uses machine learning to boost low light without having the flash wash out the subject.
  • Portrait Mode: Keeps the subject in focus while blurring the background.
  • Call Screen: automatically screens your calls.
  • Water resistance and wireless charging

The two devices are available for preorder in either black, white or "not pink." The Pixel 3 starts at $799 and the 3 XL starts at $899.

Ever feel like Facebook is listening to your conversations?

Maybe you think they're tracking your every click on the internet?

Feel like someone is watching you through your webcam?

Well why not put all those worries into one with Facebook's new Portal and Portal+.

Portal is the new voice-controlled, video-calling device used with Amazon’s Alexa.

Each model has a smart, AI-driven 12-megapixel camera with a 140-degree field of view, so you can see all the FBI agents in one room watching you. Just kidding, Facebook says it's great for your group meetings and catch-ups with the grandparents.

Portal and Portal+ cost around $199 and $349 and are available for pre-order Monday.

As a disclaimer, Facebook says it doesn’t listen to, view or keep the contents of your Portal calls, and video calls themselves are encrypted.

Hmm....sure.
