The FDA is urgently recalling certain pouches of fruit puree due to a potential presence of lead - and they're strongly advising parents to make sure their children get tested.

The recall specifically pertains to the WanaBana apple cinnamon fruit puree pouches, which health officials in North Carolina have reported as having "extremely high concentrations of lead."

In this regard, the FDA is stressing that parents of kids who have had these pouches should get in touch with their healthcare provider without delay to arrange for a blood test. It's of utmost importance, as thus far, a total of four children have been identified with elevated levels of lead in their bloodstreams.
