LinkedIn recently announced its plans to lay off over 660 employees, representing over 3% of its global workforce.
As the company increasingly relies on artificial intelligence (AI), it aims to enhance its platform by introducing additional tools to support its growth and enhance the premium user experience.
The company said, "Talent changes are a difficult, but necessary and regular part of managing our business."
It continued, "While we are adapting our organizational structures and streamlining our decision making, we are continuing to invest in strategic priorities for our future and to ensure we continue to deliver value for our members and customers."
The statement added that they will be "committed to providing our full support to all impacted employees during this transition and ensuring that they are treated with care and respect."
These workforce reductions will primarily affect personnel in the engineering, product, talent, and finance divisions. Notably, this marks the second major round of layoffs for the career-oriented social networking platform in the current year.
