After getting burned by a McDonald's Chicken McNugget, an 8-year-old girl was granted $800,000 in damages.
A jury in South Florida awarded the sum to a four-year-old girl who sustained second-degree burns on her leg.
While the girl's family initially requested $15 million in damages, they were awarded damages for both past and future damages from McDonald's and the franchise owner.
“I’m actually just happy that they listened to Olivia’s voice and the jury was able to decide a fair judgment,” the girl's mother said to reporters outside the courtroom. “I’m happy with that. I honestly had no expectations, so this is more than fair for me.”
