An software developed by a Californian man gives telemarketers a taste of their own medicine rather than blocking them, making it easier for customers to deal with them.
Developer Roger Anderson's subscription-based service Jolly Roger employs artificial intelligence to deceive telemarketers into believing they are speaking to a real person. In order to waste their time, just as they were attempting to waste the victim's time, Anderson claims that the purpose is to keep telemarketers on the line for as long as possible.
Anderson claims to have "several thousand" subscribers and charges a $25 annual subscription for the service.
