The wait is finally over for Metro riders in the Los Angeles region as Metro has announced the opening of its new regional connector rail line set to open June 16!
Metro is building a rail line that will provide riders a seamless journey from Azusa to Long Beach and from East Los Angeles to Santa Monica, through the downtown LA core. The project includes three new underground stations and extends from the L Line (Gold) in Little Tokyo and Arts District communities to the A (Blue) and E (Expo) Lines at 7th Street/Metro Center Station.
- The Regional Connector opens to the public at noon on Friday, this is a first for L.A. natives, as they will be able to hop on the train without having to transfer to another just to get to a destination.
- "Metro is offering FREE trips on all Metro bus, rail, bike, and Metro Micro services across all of Los Angeles County from June 16-18, and parking at Metro park and ride lots along the A and E Lines will also be free on the weekend as riders can test out the new system."
