In a surprising turn of events, a woman who was recently pronounced dead at a hospital in Ecuador was discovered to be alive and well.
During her own wake, the 76-year-old woman startled everyone by banging from inside her coffin, proving that she was still very much alive.
Sharing the astonishing incident on social media, her son recounted, "As I lifted up the coffin, I felt her heart pounding, and her left hand striking against the coffin... We immediately called 911 and had her rushed back to the hospital."
Initial reports suggest that the woman had been declared deceased after unsuccessful resuscitation attempts following a suspected stroke.
The Ministry of Health in the country has initiated an investigation into this extraordinary occurrence.
