The Former Los Angeles Republican mayor, Richard Riordan passes away at 92 years old.
- According to ABC7, Riordan, the 39th mayor of L.A., was elected in 1993 and re-elected in 1997. He served until 2001.
- He was in office when the wild riots were taking place in the streets of L.A. during the beating of Rodney King and helped control the crime issue.
- He also, assisted the county when the 1994 Northridge earthquake shook the city of Angels.
