A pair of autographed shoes worn by Michael Jordan in the 1998 NBA Finals has sold for a whopping $2.23 million – making them the most expensive shoes in history.
- The shoes – Air Jordan 13 Breds – were worn by Jordan in the second half of Game 2 of the Finals, which the Chicago Bulls won 93-88, according to auction house Sotheby’s New York. Jordan was responsible for 37 of those points, earning him the Finals’ MVP award.
- The sale price easily beats the amount of money made on the last pair of Jordan shoes to hit the auction block, Nike Air Ships. They sold for $1.4 million in October 2021.
