A big win for actress Gwyneth Paltrow as a jury sided with the founder of Goop, the weekly lifestyle application. It was announced that Paltrow was not at fault for a 2016 ski accident with a retired Utah optometrist who sustained broken ribs and a concussion after the fall.
Terry Sanderson filed a $300,000 lawsuit against the actress, alleging that reckless skiing caused her to run into him from behind back on Feb. 26, 2016, at Utah’s Deer Valley Resort.
According to Fox News, [Sanderson] initially filed a $3.1 million lawsuit against Paltrow, the exclusive resort and the ski instructor who was providing lessons to Paltrow's son at the time of the accident. A judge dismissed the claim, and [the] Resort and the instructor were removed from the lawsuit.
The collision left Sanderson with four broken ribs, a concussion and lasting brain damage that affected his daily life and personal relationships, he mentioned.
Deliberations started earlier in the afternoon by the Judge, soon to conclude that Sanderson was, in fact, at fault, not Paltrow.
Paltrow countersued for $1 only as well as her legal fees, insisting that she did not run into Sanderson.
