Authorities have identified the shooter who killed six people at a Nashville Christian school on Monday as 28-year-old Audrey Hale. Investigators have not yet dug up information regarding Hale’s background or motive, police say.
- Nashville Police Department officials have also released information about the victims who died in Hale’s attack at The Covenant School. Of the six people who died, three were 9-year-old students, Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney, police say. The adults have been identified as 60-year-old Katherine Koonce, the head of the school; 61-year-old Cynthia Peak; and 61-year-old Mike Hill, police say.
- Hale, who was killed by police following the attack, doesn’t fit the typical school shooter profile, authorities say. In 57 U.S. school shootings that have occurred since 2013, only six have involved female shooters, statistics reveal.
