Britain's government employees will have to scroll through TikTok off the clock on their own phones.
The U.K. government is expected to ban the social media app from work phones used by ministers and civil servants. On Thursday, Oliver Dowden, the Cabinet Office minister in the Commons, said that the band would be happening "with immediate effect."
“We believe these bans have been based on fundamental misconceptions and driven by wider geopolitics, in which TikTok, and our millions of users in the UK, play no part," said a spokesperson for TikTok. "We remain committed to working with the government to address any concerns.”
