The price of chicken wings is at its lowest level in years in the US, just in time for football season.
- A U.S. Department of Agriculture report released last week says the average wholesale price for a pound of chicken wings has been steadily falling.
- Prices reached a high of $3.25 per pound in May 2021 and dipped to about $1.68 per pound in July.
- The July price was the lowest monthly average since May 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Prices aren't expected to last though as the NFL and college football seasons both kick off in the next few weeks, the NBA returns in October, and college basketball is back in November.
