The people of Northern California high school are safe thanks to a fast thinking custodian who confined a curious cougar in an empty classroom.
According to Huffington Post the custodian was opening Pescadero High for the school day when the juvenile mountain lion was spotted. No students or teachers were on campus at the time.
The mountain lion walked into an English classroom and the custodian acted quickly and shut the door behind it. The cougar was estimated to weigh about 40 pounds and appeared "lost and scared."
The cat was tranquilized the cat and sent to the Oakland Zoo for examination. The cat is estimated to be 4 to 6 months old and had a fractured tooth that will need to be extracted before the cat can be released back into the wild.
Luckily, everyone including the cougar, is unharmed.
