Although the Yankees won Tuesday's game against the Orioles 7-6, the victory was likely bittersweet for at least one young fan who was robbed of an official game ball.
- The incident happened at the bottom of the eighth inning, when Aaron Judge walked over to the stands to hand the youth a foul ball. Just after Judge deposited the ball in the kid's glove, another fan reached over and snatched it away from him. "That’s grand theft!" announcer Paul O’Neill said. "Look at that. Little guy tried to get it in his glove."
- Whereas some young fans would have reacted to the theft by crying, the boy was seen only shaking his head as he walked back to his seat.
- If you'd been sitting nearby, would you have said something to the person who stole the ball?
