Former TV news anchor for Boston, Heather Unruh, held a press conference Wednesday revealing that Kevin Spacey gave her teenage son alcohol and sexually molested him on the island of Nantucket in the summer of 2016.
"The victim - my son - was a starstruck, straight 18-year-old young man who had no idea that the famous actor was an alleged sexual predator or that he was about to become his next victim," Unruh said.
Unruh claims that the incident occurred at Nantucket's Club Car restaurant late one night in July 2016 where Spacey purchased multiple alcoholic drinks for the 18 year old, and when he was drunk, Spacey seized this opportunity to stick his hands down the teen's pants.
"I want to make it clear - this was a criminal act," Unruh said. "It harmed him, and it cannot be undone."
After that intial groping, Spacey tried to get the teen to join him at an 'after party'. The teen excused himself to use the restroom where a concerned patron ask him if he was okay. She told Unruh's son to run away, and he did. Unruh's son ran to his grandmother's house nearby.
"Right now, my son is worried. But he's also confident that the time to act is now," Unruh said. "He did not report the crime at the time, and that was largely because of embarrassment and fear. He knew the kind of attention that would result from making an accusation about such a public person. I can assure you this is not the kind of attention anyone wants. But the climate in this country has changed now thanks to the brave women and all sexual abuse victims who have come forward with their accusations against Harvey Weinstein and other sexual abusers."
