CBS News investigator, David Goldstein, has discovered that thousands of Californians have phoney college degrees. Many of these are public employees, using these degrees to beef up their salaries and retirement plans.
These fake schools charge thousands of dollars and allow 'students' to use their life experience to earn a master's or doctorate degree and never spend one minute in a classroom. Unearthed in Goldstein's investigation:
Scott Herring - Regional Manager for the California Department of Social Services in Palmdale - Salary: $120,000 - Claiming to have a Master's Degree from Almeda University
David Fluke - Orange County Sheriff's Investigator - Salary: $240,000 - Claiming to have a Master's Degree from Almeda University
Retired FBI Agent, Allen Ezell, investigated these phony schools and found that these people are investing their money to inflate their salaries and pensions.
