Catalina Island Dog Attack

A Huntington Beach man and his 6-year-old Jack Russell Terrier were left seriously injured after being viciously attacked by unleashed pit bulls on Avalon Pier. The victim, John Brady, was airlifted to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and underwent surgery after fighting off the pit bulls to save his dog.

Brady recalled in an interview with KTLA5:

"All I did is lift my dog off the ground and I was being chewed on instantly. I knew I was going to die. I was screaming for help, and everybody was just watching ... until the last second."

A 46-second-video shows bystanders watching as Brady was being attacked. The owner of the pit bulls can be seen struggling to gain control of her animals. Another man eventually pulled one of the larger dogs away by grabbing its' tail.

A GOFUNDME page was created to help cover the cost of surgery for the victims Jack Russel Terrier, who was left in critical condition.
