The Stanley Pup To Highlight Adopable Pups Before Stanley Cup Finals

The Stanley Cup finals between the Edmonton Oilers and the Florida Pathers happens on Saturday night.

But, the night BEFORE, we get another far cuter competition. The first-ever Stanley Pup!

That's right folks, if you're a fan of the Puppy Bowl that preceeds the Super Bowl on Animal Planet, you'll love this.

Petco Love is partnering with the NHL for the 'Stanley Pup' to specifically spotlight adoptable pups nationwide. 16 dogs representing each of the teams that qualified for the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs will play for a chance to win a pup sized version of the iconic trophy, but all 32 NHL teams will be represented by an impossibly adorable pup who are available for adoption at shelters in those cities!

Amy talked to the Executive Producer of the event, Michael Levitt, on Wake Up Call. Check out that interview below.

The Stanley Pup will air:

  • Friday, June 7th at 8pm on NHL Network, ESPN+
  • Saturday, June 8th at 6pm on Sportsnet in Canada

Check out all the pups that will be featured on the broadcast on the PetcoLove website and on the NHL site HERE.
