Ingredients:
1 pound butter
1 pound brown sugar
1 pound powdered sugar
1 quart high quality vanilla ice cream
1 tablespoon allspice
1 tablespoon nutmeg
1 tablespoon cinnamon
Rum (optional)
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a large heavy pan and melt over medium heat. Stir constantly and do not let boil. When all ingredients are well blended, remover from heat and pour into canning jars. Give some away! Seal and refrigerate the rest until ready to use.
To make the hot buttered rum drink, use two or three tablespoons batter and mix with 4 ounces hot water or milk. A jigger of rum is optional.
