The legend of Bludso's BBQ begins in Corsicana, Texas, where the Bludso family has been perfecting the craft of slow-smoked meats for five generations now...
Kevin Bludso was born and raised in Compton, California, but he spent most of his childhood summers in Corsicana working on the pits for his grandmother, Willie Mae Fields. As a kid, Kevin swore that he would never join the family restaurant business... But years later, he decided he could no longer resist his family heritage.
In 2008, Kevin opened up Bludso's BBQ in his hometown of Compton. And let's just say it didn't take too long to become a local favorite.
Today, many locals would tell you Bludso's is the best BBQ in all of Los Angeles... But Eater actually named them the "Hottest BBQ in the U.S."
They've also been featured in The New York Times, USA Today, The Los Angeles Times and on Food Network's Diner's Drive In's & Dives. The legend himself, Kevin Bludso, joined Neil on the Fork Report to talk more about his family heritage and their delicious BBQ.
