The Man Box: A study on being a young man in the US, UK, and Mexico is a study from Promudo and Axe, that examines young men's behaviors, attitudes, and understandings of what it means to be a man.
The authors sampled men aged 18 to 30 in the US, UK, and Mexico, and found that most of them still fell pushed to live in the "Man Box," which they define as:
"A rigid construct of cultural ideas about male identity. This includes being self-sufficient, acting tough, looking physically attractive, sticking to rigid gender roles, being heterosexual, having sexual prowess, and using aggression to resolve conflicts."
