An Arizona judge has ruled that Republican Kari Lake will compensate Democratic Governor-elect Katie Hobbs for some legal fees related to the election lawsuit Lake brought challenging her loss.
Judge Peter Thompson made the decision for Lake to pay Hobbs $33,040.50, but stopped short of sanctioning Lake for filing the lawsuit.
Thompson rejected Lake’s lawsuit over the weekend, concluding that there wasn’t clear or convincing evidence of misconduct and affirmed Hobbs’ victory.
Lake appealed that ruling and says she will seek a direct review from the state Supreme Court.
