Derek Chauvin, the former police officer convicted in George Floyd's killing has been moved to a medium security prison in Arizona.
Chauvin was transferred from a Minnesota state prison, where he was often held in solitary confinement, to prison that would provide him with less restrictive conditions.
Bureau of Prisons spokeswoman Randilee Giamusso declined to detail the circumstances of Chauvin’s confinement, citing privacy, safety and security concerns.
Experts have said that generally it's safer for cops who have been sent to prison are safer in the federal system and in Chauvin's case, he'd be less likely to mix with people he arrested or investigated.
