Suspect in Anaheim Killing Arrested

ANAHEIM (CNS) - A 39-year-old Anaheim man was behind bars today on suspicion of the fatal shooting of another man.

Fernando Garcia was arrested at about 10:30 p.m. Monday in a vehicle in San Bernardino near the 215 Freeway and Baseline Road, according to Sgt. Shane Carringer of the Anaheim Police Department.

Garcia was taken into custody without incident and was being held on $1 million bail, Carringer said.

He is accused of killing 34-year-old Francisco Villagomez of Anaheim at about 7 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of East Clifton Street, Carringer said. Villagomez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not released a motive for the shooting.
