New Citations Claim L.A. Exposed City Workers To 'Trash And Bodily Fluids'

Two citations were issued last week that claims Los Angeles city employees were exposed to unsanitary conditions at City Hall East. The Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) issued a citation to City Atty. Mike Feuer's office, as well as one to the city's General Services Department.

According to inspectors, City Hall East was exposed to "trash and bodily fluids". But a spokesman for Feuer said the city plans on appealing the citations and penalties, which total up to $1,995...

These citations come after Deputy City Atty. Elizabeth Greenwood contacted typhus earlier this year while working in her office at City Hall East. She filed a legal claim against the city, which prompted examinations of the City Hall by multiple inspectors.
