The Orange County average price dropped three-tenths of a cent today to $3.817, one day after decreasing six-tenths of a cent. It has dropped for five consecutive days and is 1.7 cents less than one week ago. However, it is 20.2 cents more than one month ago and 79.9 cents higher than one year ago. “Refinery issues in California and Washington have been resolved, but the effects of those issues continue to keep prices high,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
“However, we could see some price relief in the coming weeks. California gas stations will be allowed to start selling winter blend gasoline on Nov. 1, which is about 12 cents a gallon cheaper to produce than the summer blend currently being sold.”
