Sports betting is BIG business and only getting bigger.
Five years ago, the U.S. Supreme Court cleared the way for all 50 states to offer sports gambling, and in that time, Americans have spent over $220 BILLION on sports using legal gambling outlets most drawn to them likely from the ads they spot on TV and on social media. Experts say the full scope of legal sports betting in the U.S. hasn't been fully realized.
But with the good, there's bad too; calls to the National Council on Problem Gambling Hotline (if you need the number, it's 800- GAMBLER) have increased more than 15% in the last five years as well.
