It's no secret that California is in a drought, and despite the recent heavy rains, we are STILL in a drought.
Part of the problem is that California doesn't do enough to capture the rain when we do get it.
One organization is working to change that. Tree People is a non-profit organization working to harvest as much of it as they can, at least in Studio City. In a 44 acre park there, they have a cistern underground that captures rainwater. They use this rainwater later to water plants and trees all around the park. And they don't just focus on the park, their goal is to help YOU do what you can to do the same.
Maria Adame, Senior Manager of Outdoor Access at Tree People, joined Jennifer this morning to talk about what they're doing not only at the park, but what people can do at their own homes and businesses to help.
