The #BettyWhiteChallenge Returns!

When Betty White died on New Year's Eve 2021, just days before her 100th birthday, we were all devastated for so many reasons, one of them being that Betty was such an animal lover and huge supporter of animal welfare causes.

A year after her death, to honor Betty's legacy, fans created #TheBettyWhiteChallenge. The challenge, which took place on Betty's birthday, January 17th, encouraged people to give at least $5 to their favorite animal charity and say 'Thank you for being a friend.'

Needless to say, the effort was a HUGE success, Betty White fans all over the world donated to their favorite animal charities, rescues and local shelters, helping millions of animals.

Well, the Betty White Challenge is back! On January 17th, what would have been Betty's 101st birthday, we are asking you to again take the #BettyWhiteChallenge and donate to your favorite animal organizations, charities, rescues, to help animals in need.

American Humane has also launched a petition to gather signatures which they will take to Congress to seek a national #BettyWhiteDay of recognition, honoring Betty's lifelong commitment to animals. Betty was American Humane's national ambassador. CLICK HERE TO SIGN THE PETITION.

Dr. Robin Ganzert, President and CEO of American Humane joined Jennifer on Wake Up Call today to tell us more about it.
