Airlines have already begun preparing for flight delays and cancellations.
Families are being impacted by the timing of a significant winter storm that is expected to spread through the country on Thursday into Friday as bustling holiday travel picks up. Weather waivers are being issued by all major airlines for travel into and out of the Midwest and Northeast.
The exemptions typically allow for changing the date without incurring any additional fines or costs, but it is advised that travelers phone their airline for the most up-to-current information.
According to several airports, travelers are moving their trip dates ahead, so instead of expecting Thursday and Friday to be the busiest days, it may now be Wednesday.
