Hochman Criticizes Gascon in LA County DA Race

Nathan Hochman, a Los Angeles County District Attorney candidate, criticized incumbent DA George Gascon's policies in a recent interview with KFI's John Kobylt. Hochman, a former Assistant U.S. Attorney, condemned Gascon's incarceration policies, arguing they lead to increased crime and public safety risks.

Hochman pointed out the record-low crime rates under former DA Jackie Lacey in 2014, attributing this to effective law enforcement. He criticized Gascon's appointment of Tiffany Blacknell, who lacks prosecutorial experience, and the overall management of the DA's office.

Attending a memorial for Johnny Wactor, an actor killed by catalytic converter thieves, Hochman highlighted public dissatisfaction with Gascon's approach. He emphasized the need for a DA who targets criminal supply chains and supports law enforcement.

Hochman’s campaign focuses on a balanced law enforcement approach with bipartisan support. He criticized Proposition 47 for its leniency on drug and theft crimes, advocating for stricter penalties for repeat offenders and fentanyl trafficking. As the DA race intensifies, Hochman positions himself as a candidate prioritizing public safety and effective prosecution.
