In a significant development, House Republicans have obtained information they claim proves that Hunter Biden lied under oath multiple times during his congressional deposition earlier this year. The House Ways & Means Committee discussed these findings during a mark-up session on Wednesday, revealing documents protected under IRS code 6103, which keeps certain information confidential.

According to the committee, Hunter Biden mischaracterized his role at his firm, Rosemont Seneca, and falsely claimed he did not control certain bank accounts. Additionally, the committee alleges Biden lied about helping a foreign national obtain a visa and misled investigators about his communications with a Chinese business associate.

House Ways & Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith stated, "Hunter Biden has shown once again he believes there are two systems of justice in this country – one for his family, and one for everyone else." Smith emphasized that lying under oath is a felony offense, and the American people expect accountability.

The committee's investigation revealed that Hunter Biden allegedly lied about his involvement with Miguel Aleman on visa documents and falsely claimed a mix-up with Chinese businessman Henry Zhao due to being under the influence. These findings have intensified scrutiny on Biden's activities and raised questions about other aspects of his testimony.

Hunter Biden currently faces multiple criminal charges, including gun and tax offenses. He has pleaded not guilty to federal gun charges in Delaware and federal tax charges in California, related to a "four-year scheme" where he allegedly did not pay federal income taxes from January 2017 to October 2020.

IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler have alleged that political considerations influenced prosecutorial decisions in the federal investigation into Hunter Biden. They expressed frustration that the Justice Department did not charge Biden for failing to pay federal income tax for 2014 and 2015, allowing the statute of limitations to expire on those charges.
