A vigil is scheduled to be held for the passing of Riverside County sheriff's deputy Darnell Calhoun, who was killed while responding to a domestic violence call in Lake Elsinore.
The vigil will be held on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station and is open to the public.

According to Fox, when Calhoun approached the property, the suspect began shooting directly at him, that's when "a deputy-involved shooting occurred (...) as an additional deputy arrived, the suspect engaged him with gunfire and [eventually] the suspect was wounded and taken into custody."
Deputies rushed Calhoun to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Calhoun joined the department in February 2022 after serving with the San Diego Police Department. Calhoun leaves behind his partner, a son and another baby on the way.
Calhoun was the second Riverside deputy to be killed in the line of duty in two weeks.
