Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg had a talk with the CEO of Southwest Airlines about the company's holiday travel catastrophe.
Buttigieg stated that he expected the airline to "live up to the pledges it has made to passengers" in terms of refunds, hotel rooms, and meal coupons, according to a department official.
As a result of the collapse, Buttigieg urged the airline to "do right by their pilots and flight attendants" that have been affected by the meltdown.Southwest has canceled more than 15,000 flights since last week's winter storm, while the majority of other carriers have recovered.
