CHP officials need the public's help in identifying two men who robbed the toll plazas at the Carquinez Bridge and the Bay Bridge on Sunday.
The Carquinez Bridge toll plaza was hit at 4:00am by two suspects in a black Mercedes S500 sedan with CarMax paper license plates and hard-to-miss chrome accents.
The suspects are both black men who wore blue and purple latex gloves, according to CHP. In the first robbery, a man in the back seat pointed a gun at the toll taker and said:
"Give me the tray."
The robbers made off with more than $1,000. Just before 3pm, they robbed the Bay Bridge toll plaza and took about $3,000.
Toll takers were shaken, but no one was injured. CHP officials are actively investigating both robberies, and ask anyone with information to come forward and call them at (707) 551-4100.
