(Koffi Ameyapoh - Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services)
A convicted rapist from Africa threw a tantrum as he was being deported, telling federal agents that he "would rather die than go back to Togo."
The angry 51-year-old told agents:
“I am not going back to Togo. You will be shipping a dead body back to Togo. I am going to make a commotion at the terminal, so the marshals can shoot me because I would rather die than go back to Togo.”
Koffi Ameyapoh was convicted in 2006 for raping and sexually abusing a child, and was scheduled to take a flight to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as part of his rout to the African county of Togo.
As he was being escorted through the top floor of an airport garage, he ran toward the railings and began fighting with agents. He injured at least two of the officers, causing bruising and arm abrasions.
After all of that, he was also charged with a federal count of "hampering departure from the United States."
Get this guy out of here!
