Canadian woman drove with coyote stuck in grille for more than 20 miles

Georgie Knox - Facebook

Canadian woman Georgie Knox was on her way to work when a coyote ran out in front of her car, giving her little time to slow down or swerve out of the way.

She had just started her roughly 20-mile drive before hitting the animal:

"I heard a crunch and believed I ran over and killed it."

Knox didn't realize the coyote was still alive until she got to Calgary. She wrote in a Facebook post:

“Upon stopping at a traffic light by my work, a construction woman notified me that there was in fact a coyote still embedded in my car. When I got out to look, this poor little guy was looking up and blinking at me.”

She contacted Alberta's Fish and Wildlife Enforcement and officers were able to free the animal, who escaped with minor injuries.

A biologist determined the coyote was healthy and released him in Kananaskis, a park system west of Calgary.
