Anaheim set to vote on state of emergency over homeless encampments

Tomorrow the city of Anaheim will meet to consider declaring a state of emergency over the out of control homeless encampments along the Santa Ana river trail.

Homeless people have created sprawling tent cities littered with urine, feces, and syringes. They harass the people who have legitimate homes along the river trail and make life hell for them.

Residents are getting pretty fed up over the inaction from the Orange County government and from the local city governments. Anaheim resident George Gonzales, who lives near Honda Center, told the LA Times:

"We can no longer tolerate the way things are. We don't want to join a gym because we prefer the outdoors. But if the outdoors means running into addicts and thieves, how can we enjoy it?"

Enough is enough! City and county leaders, what are you going to do?
