AZ woman who put 10-year-old cousin in a hot box gets the death penalty

(Sammantha Lucille Rebecca Allen - Maricopa County Sheriff)

A Phoenix jury has sentenced a woman to death for the killing of her 10-year-old cousin, who she locked in a small plastic box as punishment for stealing an ice pop.

29-year-old Sammantha Allen will become the 55th woman on death row in the United States. Right now there are two other women on death row in Arizona.

Authorities say Allen and her husband, John Allen, are responsible for making 10-year-old Ame Deal get into the box the night before she died.

She was left in the box and was found dead six or seven hours later.

John Allen's trial is scheduled to start on October 9th. Just like his wife, he faces charges of first-degree murder and child abuse. He also faces the death penalty and has plead not guilty.

The abuse Ame Deal suffered before her death was horrible. She was forced to eat dog feces, crush aluminum cans barefoot, eat hot sauce, and get into the small box on other occasions.

She was also kicked in the face, beaten with a wooden paddle, and dunked and thrown into a cold pool. Three other family members are in prison for abusing Ame.

Sammantha Allen's mother, Cynthia Stoltzmann, was also Ame's legal guardian. She's serving a 24-year prison sentence for child abuse.

That poor child. All of those people who abused her deserve Satan's Lake of Fire.
