Illegal alien families got nearly $1.3 billion in welfare from Los Angeles County during 2015 and 2016. That's close to 1/4 of the amount spent on the county's entire population.
The data comes from the county Department of Public Social Services, which is responsible for handing out the welfare benefits.
But, with Trump as President, there may be a decline in people seeking benefits. Los Angeles County is expected to hand out $200 million less this year than in 2016, and several thousand fewer families will get benefits.
Fox News compiled the welfare benefit data from the Los Angeles County of Public Social Services:
- More than 58,000 families received a total of $602 million in benefits in 2015.
- More than 64,000 families received a total of $675 million in 2016.
- During the first five months of 2017, more than 60,000 families received a total of $181 million.
- Welfare and food stamp costs for the county’s entire population were $3.1 billion in 2015, $2.9 billion in 2016 and $1.5 billion so far in 2017.
The federal government is doing its job curtailing illegal immigration, but what about our city and county leaders? They enable and encourage it!
