As an author, with the release of “The Boy Who Loved Batman: A Memoir”; Michael recalls his journey from early childhood fandom through to the decades he spent on a caped crusade of his own: to bring Batman to the silver screen as the dark, serious character he was at heart following his work as Executive Producer on every Batman film from Tim Burton s 1989 re-envisioning to 2012 s The Dark Knight Rises.
In addition; Dr. Michael Uslan is a Professor of Practice at the Indiana University Media School. Dr. Uslan was the instructor of both the first accredited college course and correspondence course on comic books (Indiana University 1971), and the author of the first textbook on comics, The Comic Book In America. His course “The Rise of Superheroes and Their Impact On Pop Culture” is currently offered by the SmithsonianX at no cost!!!
