NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - A 35-year-old suspect who allegedly fled from police at high speeds in the Hollywood area, leading to a three-vehicle crash, was free on bond Monday.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers from the LAPD Hollywood division responded to the 5600 block of Franklin Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Friday on a report of shots being fired.

Responding officers spotted a suspect who matched the dispatch description and chased the man on foot, but he jumped into parked car drove off "at a high rate of speed," police said.

The suspect fled west on Hollywood Boulevard from Wilton Place, but eventually wound up eastbound on Sunset Boulevard, where he crashed into two other vehicles at Sunset and Vine, police said.

``The suspect exited out of the driver's seat and ran away from the crash scene, leading officers in a brief foot pursuit before being taken into custody. After being taken into custody, officers recovered a live round from the suspect," police said in a statement.

The suspect was identified as Cornell Harvey of Los Angeles, who was treated at a hospital for minor abrasions to his head from the traffic crash before he was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

His bail was set at $30,000, but jail records show he was released on bond Saturday night.
