ANAHEIM (CNS) - A convenience store robbery early Monday in Anaheim appears connected to a spree of heists in the city and elsewhere, police said.
Several suspects clad in black and dark clothing would run off with the store's cash registers into a dark-colored SUV getaway car, Anaheim police Sgt. Jon McClintock said.
The most recent robbery was at 1 a.m. at a Circle K at 3899 E. Riverdale Ave., McClintock said. The others were at a 7 Eleven at 775 N. East St. about 10 p.m. Sunday and a Shell Gas Station at 3080 E. La Palma Ave. about 10:21 p.m. Sunday.
Investigators suspect the robberies are connected to one in Fullerton and several others in Los Angeles County, McClintock said.
Fullerton police responded to a robbery at 10:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of West Orangethorpe Avenue, said Kristy Wells of the Fullerton Police Department. Five suspects jumped over the counter at a convenience store, grabbed cash registers and cigarettes before fleeing, Wells said.
Anyone with information helpful to investigators was asked to call Anaheim police at 714-765-1900 or alert Orange County Crime Stoppers, which will accept anonymous tips, at 855-TIP-OCCS.
