LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A woman has tentatively settled her lawsuit against Trey Songz that accused the "Heart Attack" rapper of sexual assault during a 2016 house party in West Hills.

The plaintiff was identified only as Jane Doe in her Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit. On Wednesday, the singer's attorney, Michael G. Freedman, filed court papers with Judge Jill Feeney informing her of a "conditional" settlement in the case with the expectation a request for dismissal will be filed by June 10. No terms were divulged.

On Thursday, the judge vacated the scheduled Sept. 16 trial date. When Doe filed her suit in February 2023 she sought $25 million.

In a previously filed five-page answer to the complaint, Freedman stated that one or more causes of action alleged in Doe's complaint were "barred on grounds that plaintiff consented to the physical contact alleged in her complaint."

Freedman's pleadings also stated that the plaintiff "delayed an unreasonable period of time in bringing her claims and/or prosecuting this lawsuit and therefore cannot recover on any cause of action alleged in her complaint."

According to the suit, Doe initially had a friendly relationship with the "Say Aah" singer, now 39 and whose real name is Tremaine Aldon Neverson. But matters changed on March 24, 2016, when Songz forced her into having a type of sex against her will in a bedroom of a West Hills home during a party, the complaint stated.

After the alleged assault was over, Doe contacted a ride-hailing service to get home, but the driver realized Doe was in emotional distress and took her to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center's emergency room in Burbank, the suit stated. The hospital staff reported the alleged assault to Burbank police, but Doe declined to cooperate with officers, according to the complaint.

The stress of the alleged attack and Doe's fear for her life prevented her from providing Songz's name to the police, the suit stated.
